Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.

The Arun Choral Society, in collaboration with West Sussex Music, proudly presents an unmissable choral concert, bringing to life one of the most electrifying works in classical music – Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

Since its premiere, Carmina Burana has captivated audiences worldwide, becoming one of the most frequently performed pieces in the classical repertoire. Its universal themes of fate, fortune, love, and excess, combined with bold orchestration and raw emotional power, have made it an enduring favourite. The iconic opening chorus, O Fortuna, is instantly recognisable, having been featured in countless films, commercials, and media to underscore moments of intensity and grandeur.

This monumental cantata for large orchestra, mixed chorus, children’s choir, and soloists promises to be a breathtaking performance led by conductor Joe Paxton. The evening will showcase the full drama, passion, and sheer sonic force of Orff’s masterpiece in a setting that will leave audiences spellbound.
